Challenge Highlights
It is Thursday and that means it is time to check out some of the challenges in the forum. First I want to introduce myself, I’m Shauna, one of the Sugar Plums here, and for the next couple of months I will be bringing you the challenge highlights on Thursdays. I’m going to change it up a little by giving you links and a quick rundown of the current challenges in the forum this week (so you can join the fun) and then I’ll show you some of the highlights from last week’s challenges. If you’ve not participated in the challenges you really should, they are a way to earn discount coupons as well as chances to win cool prizes. This month the prize is a surprise provided by Pixel Perfect Designs (her stuff is so cool).
First off if you’ve not seen the challenges in the forum here is a link to the September Challenges. We do new challenges each week, so you will always have something new to do. For the week of 09/01/10 – 09/07/10 there will be a ten challenges and they are Template, September Desktop, Lift a Sugar Plum, One Word, Recipe, QP Exchange, All About Me, Font, Hybrid, Month Long – Posting Challenge. There is something for everyone, depending on the type of challenge you want, so don’t hesitate to head over to the forum and join the fun. If you have any questions, just ask away, the Sugar Plums are always willing to help.
Here are some highlights from last week’s challenges. We had some really fun challenges last week and the most popular was the Signature Challenge (which I think is going to be done once a month going forward). The entries for this challenge were very creative and if you want to check them out head over to the thread and check them all out, but here is my favorite created by Caro (aka CaroB71)

Another great challenge from last week was the Blast From The Past Challenge which asked you to create a layout that captures those special moments that are truly unique to that special someone in your life – even years later. I think Faye (aka koalamama) did a great job with her layout called Goofs.

I personally had a lot of fun with the Non-traditional Challenge. We were given a cover from a magazine and asked to create a layout based on it. When I looked at it I thought of a quilt right away (because it was blockish). So I created a layout I called Silly Girl.

The Theme Challenge was to do a layout about going back to school, since it is that time of year. There were some cute entries, but I really liked the one created by CreativelyObsessed called Little Boogie Boy.

The Font Challenge introduced you to the font Pea Beth by Kevin and Amanda, if you did not already have it in your library. I love fonts, and I can never get enough. They can really change the look of a page. I love what Jadelyn (aka scrappycharmer) did with the font on her layout Love You Both.

Ok the last challenge I’m going to highlight from last week is the Template Challenge. The template was created by Sugar Plum Melanie and was a great one. I really liked what Cath (aka Cath_S) did with it when she created her layout Vintage.

There were other challenges, so feel free to head over to the forum and check on them. We have some really talented scrappers here and I love looking at what they create. And don’t forget to join the fun by visiting the September thread and creating some great layouts yourself.
